REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Changes to the ATV Law(Effective September 1, 2014)
Senate Bill 1287 was signed by the Governor on July 3, 2014 as Act 111 of 2014. This act shall take effect 60 days after the signing by the Governor. The new law changed the weight limits on ATV classifications as follows:
Class 1: A maximum width of 50 inches and a maximum dry weight of 1,200 pounds Class 2: A width which exceeds 50 inches or a dry weight which exceeds 1,200 pounds
THE CLASS 2 CHANGE FOR THE CURRENT OWNER IS OPTIONAL WHILE THEY OWN THE ATV

All Pennsylvania residents are required to title a snowmobile or ATV that they own for more than 15 days. The application form can be printed and mailed to the Snowmobile/ATV Registration Section for processing. Additionally, all ATVs and snowmobiles operated in Pennsylvania must be registered with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, with the exception of those used predominately for farming or business purposes.
